    My Mission

My goal in providing counseling is to help people grow and further develop skills and strategies that will assist them in living the best versions of their lives. When conducting psychological assessments, I aim to provide thorough and helpful answers to questions or concerns put forth by my clients or their referring providers.

I find working with people of different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, cultures, religions, abilities, and sexual/gender differences to be a very enriching experience. Even those of us who look the same and have similar backgrounds can still be highly diverse in our own values and views about many aspects of life and our world. I strongly respect and value the individual differences that each client brings to our work together. Listening to, and caring about, each person’s unique story and journey through life is an important process in a therapeutic relationship. It is one that I do not take lightly and for which I have great respect. When working with clients, I seek to help them recognize their strengths, affirm their goals, identify and work on needed changes to make in order to accomplish their goals, and encourage/support them in their journey to live the best versions of their lives.

    Inspirational Quotes

As every therapist will tell you, healing involves discomfort. But so does refusing to heal. And over time, refusing to heal is always more painful.

    Resmaa Menakim

I am not afraid of storms for I am learning how to sail my ship.

Your trauma is valid. Even if other people have experienced “worse.” Even if someone else who went through the same experience doesn’t feel debilitated by it. Even if no one knows. Your trauma is real and valid and you deserve a space to talk about it. It isn’t desperate or pathetic or attention-seeking. It’s self-care. It’s inconceivably brave. And regardless of the magnitude of your struggle, you’re allowed to take care of yourself by processing and unloading some of the pain you carry. Your pain matters. Your experience matters. And your healing matters. Nothing and no one can take that away.

    Daniell Koepke

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

    Maya Angelou

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

    Dalai Lama

Not everything that is faced can be changed but nothing can be changed until it is faced.

    James Baldwin

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

    Helen Keller

Owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it.
